Hello! I'm Jess Bugg.

 

I'm a writer, and artist based in Midcoast Maine.

I am the Creative Director, and Co-Founder of Low Season, where we create outdoor essentials and fragrances made from plants.

 

My work tends to live at the intersection of environmental urgency and creativity. My 2024 book, You Had to Be There, published by Lantern Publishing & Media, examines climate grief through personal essays and academic analysis. My 2026 oracle deck & guidebook, The Earth Oracle, explores the wisdom of the earth beyond metaphor and seeks practical guidance from the natural world.

I earned my BA in visual communication from SCAD and my MA in nature-culture-sustainability studies from RISD.
